How can you tell it is bed bugs?

Bed bugs are small, flat, reddish-brown insects. Adults are roughly the size of an apple seed, and young ones are smaller and paler. They feed on blood, mostly at night, and spend the day hidden close to where people sleep or sit. Common signs include:

• Small rust-coloured or blood spots on sheets and pillow covers
• Dark dots (droppings) along mattress seams, bed joints and sofa piping
• Pale shed skins and tiny white eggs in crevices
• Itchy bites, often in a line or cluster, on skin exposed during sleep
• A faint musty smell in rooms with a heavy infestation

Where do bed bugs hide in Panaji homes and buildings?

3. Targeted treatment. We treat the places bed bugs actually live, such as mattress seams, bed frames, joints, cracks and crevices. We use CIB&RC-registered products applied according to label directions, rather than simply spraying the whole room.
4. Follow-up visits. Eggs are hard to reach and can hatch after the first treatment, so follow-up visits are part of the plan. Their number and spacing depend on what the inspection finds.

Washing bedding and clothes in hot water and drying them thoroughly helps kill bugs and eggs in fabric. During Goa's heavy south-west monsoon, sun-drying is often not possible, so plan ahead. Use a dryer on a hot setting if you have one. Otherwise, keep washed items sealed in clean bags until they can be dried properly, rather than returning damp linen to a treated room.

On safety:

• Keep children and pets out of treated rooms until surfaces are dry, or for as long as the technician advises.
• Ventilate treated rooms before using them again.
• Wash your hands after handling treated items. Do not wipe treated cracks and seams before the advised time.
• Tell us in advance about infants, pregnancy, asthma, or pets such as fish and birds, so the plan can take them into account.

What affects the cost, and what does the warranty cover?

We do not quote a fixed price over the phone, because bed bug jobs vary widely. The quotation depends on:

• How widespread the infestation is
• The type of property: flat, house, hotel, hostel, PG or office
• How many follow-up visits the inspection suggests

Payment is as per the quotation or invoice. We accept cash, UPI, card, net banking and bank transfer. If you need to cancel, please tell us at least 48 hours before the scheduled service, as a late-cancellation fee may apply.

For specific services, a warranty applies to the treated area as set out in your service agreement. It varies by treatment. It does not cover structural changes, new construction, or cases where post-service instructions were not followed.
