Why do we bait ants instead of spraying every trail?

The ants you see on the platform are foraging workers, only a small part of the colony. The queen and the young stay hidden in the nest. Spraying the trail kills the foragers, but the colony carries on and may simply shift to a new spot.

Baits work because workers carry the food back to the nest and share it. For the first few days you may see more ants gathering at bait points. This usually means the bait is being taken, so avoid wiping or spraying those spots. Activity normally falls over the following days.
